under 13s Greens and Blues in action

The latest under 13s tournament in the Eastern Counties First Division saw both the Ely Greens and Blues in action. With Ely the only club with two teams at this level getting full squads on the day can sometimes be difficult and this was one such day, with the Greens playing their first match with only 3 outfielders. However against the seasons form team of Bury St Edmunds it was difficult to tell at times that Ely were a ‘man ‘ light. Ely actually took the lead only for Bury to hit back with two quick goals.

FRIENDLIES V COTTENHAM

The club replaced its Saturday training with some friendly matches against Cottenham, well done to all those who turned up to play. There were 3 x 20 minute matches and 3 x 10 minute matches at Minors, Inters and Schoolboys. Some, particularly at the older age groups, were very close games with different winners each time.

Cottenham edged the night with 4 wins to 2. Well done in particular to the goalkeepers on the night Ryan Norton and Hattie Ford who arent regulars in goal, this was Ryan's first go in competitive matches.
